According to Aline Panel, the producer of "Je te promets," translating the title was not an option. She explains that doing so would have resulted in losing the wordplay present in the original French version. Additionally, she believes that directly translating it would have sounded cliché. Instead, the production team sought to find a new title that would capture the essence of the series.

It was during this search for a fitting title that the idea of using one of Johnny Hallyday's songs became evident. "Je te promets" (which translates to "I Promise You") seemed like the perfect choice. Hallyday's music holds a special place in the hearts of many generations of French people.
