As we approach the new year, it's important to be aware of the changes that will be taking effect, particularly when it comes to legislation that directly impacts our community. One such legislation is Senate Bill 2, which will have significant implications for concealed weapons carry in Plaster County, California.

The new law brings about a multitude of changes, from the process of obtaining a concealed weapons permit to the background investigation and training requirements. While some of these changes may seem reasonable, there are aspects of the legislation that raise concerns regarding its constitutionality.

Questioning the Constitutionality of Changes

One specific change that has sparked controversy is the restriction on carrying concealed weapons in private businesses unless they explicitly permit it. This means that individuals with concealed weapons permits will no longer be able to carry their firearms in businesses unless there is a notice affirmatively allowing it.

This raises questions about the rights of business owners and individuals who wish to exercise their Second Amendment rights. It also prompts us to consider whether these legislative changes truly address the issue of gun violence or if they inadvertently infringe upon the rights of law-abiding citizens.

Addressing Concerns and Taking Action

As someone with over three decades of law enforcement experience, I can attest that concealed weapons holders are not the ones perpetrating gun violence. In fact, Plaster County is home to over 7,100 law-abiding CCW holders who simply seek to protect themselves and their communities.

In light of these legislative changes, I urge the business community to take proactive measures by following a link provided in this post. We have created a sign that meets all the requirements set forth by the California Department of Justice, allowing CCW holders in Plaster County to continue carrying in business establishments.

It's crucial for businesses to understand the impact of these legislative changes and take steps to ensure that law-abiding citizens are not unduly restricted from exercising their rights. By working together, we can uphold safety while respecting individual freedoms.

A Message of Gratitude and Well Wishes

I want to express my gratitude to all residents for their unwavering support and understanding during this time of change. Your support is invaluable as we navigate through these legislative adjustments and strive to maintain a safe and harmonious community.

As we approach the holiday season, I extend my warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and a joyous time with your loved ones. Let's continue to stand together in support of our
