Music has always been an integral part of my life. From a young age, I was exposed to great musical influences like Tim Maia, Milho Santiago, and Scooby. Though I had two options – pagode or rap – I ended up falling in love with Samba and Pagode, thanks to my father who always took me to pagode events in Ribeirão. Our journey began in small bars and performing at friends' birthdays and country houses. Our group, Puro Sintonia, had a solid foundation at Praia Bar in Ipiranga, where we would perform pagode music every Sunday. All the money we earned from these performances was saved to go to the studio and record our material. We spent three years playing in bars without receiving any payment. However, as time went on, doors began to open, and now we are reaping the fruits of our labor. We are still planning new projects for the future. Pagode music holds a special place in everyone's heart, and it's rare to find a barbecue without it. We draw inspiration from groups like Menos é Mais, who have brought back the essence of pagode. Nowadays, with social media and YouTube, it's easier to discover the work of various unknown groups. Thankfully, pagode music is gaining popularity once again, and we are determined to carve out our own space. Live pagode performances have a unique magic that cannot be replicated.

The Joys and Struggles of Pursuing a Musical Career

In this article, the author shares the importance of music in their life and the lives of their family. They mention how playing pagode music live is a fun and contagious activity, serving as an escape from the responsibilities and hectic nature of daily life. They emphasize the significance of understanding and respecting each other's opinions within the group to maintain harmony. The author also opens up about their personal experience, mentioning the recent loss of their father and how it affected their professional motivation. They highlight that making a living solely from music is a challenge, and there is still prejudice towards this career choice. However, they believe that with dedication and a strong fan base, success is achievable. The author acknowledges that while some members of the group may dedicate themselves exclusively to music, they still need to juggle other responsibilities in their lives. They emphasize the importance of promoting the group on social media and admit their lack of technological skills. Nevertheless, they express gratitude for having a supportive spouse who assists them in this area.

We are eternizing not only a DVD but also this podcast every week, so we can watch and listen to it 20 or 30 years from now. Recording a DVD is not an easy task; it involves significant financial investment. In our second DVD, we included three original songs and some cover songs. While well-known songs can bring recognition to artists, the author believes that it is essential for artists to stand out with their own music, even though it may be more challenging. The pandemic has shown that this is not the wrong path, but the author doesn't believe it's right to rely solely on songs from other artists. It is crucial to invest in promotion, including radio airplay, to make the music known. Recording a DVD also involves copyright issues, and composers must be paid. The group has original songs that tell true stories that have happened to them or their friends. Sometimes, the author feels hesitant about releasing songs, but promises a gold record to those who accompany them for a month. After 14 years together, recording the DVD exceeded their expectations, despite the nervousness involved.

The Challenges and Rewards of Sertanejo Music

The content discusses the financial difficulties of investing in sertanejo music, due to the high costs of equipment and system upgrades. It also mentions the interference caused by radio antennas and the need to edit DVD recordings. Additionally, it talks about the song "Chá de Sumiço," which portrays the situation of a crush who disappears on weekends. The pagode group utilizes various percussion instruments such as pandeiro, tantã, and surdo, as well as cavaquinho and violão. The band also includes drums and other guest musicians for recordings.

Music has the power to transcend boundaries and touch the deepest parts of our souls. It has the ability to transport us to different emotions and experiences, making it an essential part of our lives. Whether it's pagode, sertanejo, or any other genre, music has the ability to bring people together, provide comfort, and inspire us to pursue our dreams. Despite the challenges faced by musicians, the rewards of creating and performing music are immeasurable. So let's continue to support and appreciate the incredible talent and dedication of artists who bring joy to our lives through their music.
