Unleashing Unprecedented Energy

You know, I've performed on all types of stages, but I've never felt the energy quite like the Talk Show crowd energy. It's electrifying! Let me tell you, your energy is off the chain, and it's important to me. Just being in the presence of the Talk Show crowd gives me a surge of excitement and passion.

Today, we have a special guest - LL Cool J. When I found out he was coming on the show, I couldn't contain my excitement. LL Cool J is someone I grew up listening to and loving. I even had my own version of his outfits back in the day. I used to wear rings that spelled out "Jenny" and "Kate," my nickname at the time. I wish I had brought those rings with me today.

Bringing the Boombox Vibes

One of my favorite things to have back then was a boombox. So, to kick off the show today, I decided to walk into the office with a boombox blaring LL Cool J's music. The whole office came alive with dancing and energy. It was like a mini-concert right here in the office.

Imagine if every office started their workday like this, with music and dancing. It would be a game-changer. So, I challenge you all to go back to your offices and tell your coworkers that Jennifer Hudson said every office needs to start their workday with a boombox and some dance moves. Let's bring the energy and excitement into our work lives.

The Joys and Challenges of Having a Talk Show

Having my own talk show is a dream come true. One of the best things about it is getting to meet and interview people I love and admire. It's like a backstage pass to the lives of incredible individuals.

But let me tell you, it's not all rainbows and sunshine. When you have a talk show, you have to talk. And when you talk, you get feedback. One of the things I've learned is that I tend to say "wow" a lot. I never noticed it until my producer, Lauren, pointed it out. She said, "Jennifer, you tend to say 'wow' too much."

And she's right. I say "wow" a thousand times in a single episode. But here's the thing, each "wow" has its own subtext. Sometimes it's a genuine expression of amazement, other times it's a way of saying, "I have no idea what's going on." It's my signature riff, just like every artist has their own. Mariah Carey has her "oh," Fantasia has her unique vocal style, and Whitney Houston had her iconic "shoo."

Embracing Feedback and Memes

I love feedback. As a musician and a singer, I'm used to receiving feedback and using it to improve my craft. So, when Lauren called me out on my excessive "wows," I embraced it. I love notes, and I told her to give me more.

But it's not just verbal feedback that I appreciate. I also love using memes to express myself. Memes capture the essence of an emotion or reaction, and I find them to be a fun and creative way to communicate. Since starting the show, I've collected even more memes that capture my expressions and reactions.

Let's take a look at a few of them. There's one with Leslie Jordan that perfectly captures the moment when your friend spills the tea. And another one with Shirley Ralph from Dream Girls, where my face says it all when it's time to divide up the bill. And of course, my sister Juju always has a wide range of expressions that speak volumes.

The Journey Continues

It's hard to believe that it's been almost a month since we started shooting the show. Time flies when you're having fun, and it feels like a whole new life. Every day is a new adventure, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share it with all of you.

So, let's keep the energy high, embrace feedback, and continue to express ourselves through memes and music. Together, we can make every day feel like a celebration. Stay tuned for more incredible guests, more laughter, and more "wows" on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Happy birthday to us all!
