The Battle of the Lies

In the grand arena of political discourse, the battle of the lies rages on. As the town hall echoed with the familiar refrain of Donald Trump's lies, it was clear that we, the audience, were not the only ones who had heard it all before. The question was, how to cover the former president and the current presidential candidate? We were about to get reactions from the next two guests, Mark McKinnon, former adviser to George W. Bush, and Al Franken, former Democratic Senator.

The Circus of Politics

Politics, it seems, has become the circus. We are so glad to have Mark here. Senator, this is not about what Donald Trump said tonight. It's about what comes next. Although, what he said tonight was -- I looked at some fact-checks and they were like fact-checks, each had like six fact-checks. I think it was him saying he will go after E. Jean Carroll, Ukraine, every other country in Europe, but Putin, did he commit war crimes? We don't need to get into that tonight.

The Media's Role

One of the things the media shouldn't do is what they did in 16, where they went to every rally. Remember that? Every rally started on CNN, and it was here that as soon as his time started making a report, Trump's got a new rally. We can't ignore a presidential candidate, and that's what he might end up being. But you don't have to sit on his rally for three hours. And they actually were doing that during the nominating process. So, they shouldn't do that. They just gave him -- there was no oxygen for the other candidates. There still will be a primary race. He's still going to be indicted. Many, many other times.

The Truth Behind the Lies

But what we saw, tonight, was I'm not sure how CNN picked this. Republicans gotta decide yet, because they would be like well, this is Jenny, and she hasn't decided. So, we could've taken, maybe the wrong inference from that crowd? Maybe, maybe? Or maybe it was exactly what we saw which was that none of these guys have debt. But what I remember, what Santa said tonight was that -- nothing to take a harder stance on guns? Yes -- how about saying, you lied a lot and how about just saying, because that's what I think. Anyone who thought he -- in 16, they all thought he doesn't have a chance, and I want to be second, right? This is early on, in the nominating process. So, I'm not going to criticize him, I want to inherit his people. Now, and so the only people who are attacking him are Hutchinson. Like people who can't start bargaining at the nomination. And someone, if Desantis is actually going to go for this, he should go for it.

The Media's Role Revisited

Mr. McKinnon? Well, I'll take a little different view. Personally, it's all lies, obviously. It's an impossible deflection of display. But fairly aggressive efforts to do. So because almost everything is alive. But think about the things online. To me, the value of seeing Donald Trump's for the rest of the country to learn things like we did tonight. He's going to pardon all the rioters. He's going to support family separation at the border, again. Like he doesn't care about the Georgia sexual salt. He still refuses to admit the 2020 -- still extending the fraud idea, taking extreme position on abortion, still is giving both sides on Ukraine and Russia. And, by the way, said let's just see what happens if we don't pair that. So, I think we actually learned a lot of things beyond the lies about things that Trump would actually do. That are really scary.

The Great Debate: A Tale of Lies, Truths, and Media

And, Joe Biden's above fundraising response, do you really want four more years of that. But, how do Democrats -- Democrats, all who watch, that think that a lot of things went wrong in 2016. Where do they go from here? Democrats, are you talking about the media?
