Sunday morning greeted us with a sudden drop in temperature, transforming everything into a frozen wonderland. As the day progressed, we anticipated the frozen landscape to thaw and become wetter. We found ourselves on Forest Trail, where the road had recently been widened by blowers overnight. It was the perfect opportunity to train Brian on how to operate these powerful machines. With his newly acquired skills, we would have an extra set of hands proficient in the art of blowing.

Observing our surroundings, we couldn't help but notice the presence of ice dams on the roofs. However, the rental house nearby seemed to be holding up well against these icy formations. We attributed this to the house's sound structural integrity, as someone had taken the initiative to clear the roof partially. While we encountered a few maintenance issues with some trucks, our focus remained on clearing more space in the driveway.

Mistaken Identity: A Cable in Disguise

During our winter escapade, we stumbled upon a peculiar cable that initially deceived us, resembling a rope. It led us to contemplate forbidden tree roots and evoked the reverberating sound of cannons. The cable, upon closer inspection, appeared akin to an electrical cord or perhaps a climbing cord. Its black color revealed the consequences of leaving the wiper on, resulting in a dry rub against the cable's surface.

In a twist of fate, we found ourselves utilizing a blower for the first time, even though our preference was for a dry rub. Nevertheless, we approached this new endeavor with enthusiasm, confident that with a few tricks up our sleeves, we would conquer it. One such trick involved keeping the auger engaged, which we believed the unfamiliar operator would figure out. As the wind began to pick up, we realized the urgency to clear a parking lot ahead.

Snow Creek: Where Rails and Mountains Meet

Our journey led us to the captivating Snow Creek, where we checked on the well-being of the locals. Sadie, a familiar face, captivated us with her unique method of entering a vehicle - utilizing the rail instead of opting for a traditional jump. The elevation at Snow Creek resulted in considerably higher snowfall, necessitating the clearing of driveways and roads. However, we couldn't help but notice the towering driveway that seemed to defy our efforts.

Navigating the challenges of clearing the sluff, we relied on the trusted blower to widen the road. However, shooting snow across the street emerged as a viable solution to tackle the massive amount of snow in the town. The task at hand seemed daunting, yet we remained determined to keep the road as wide as possible, ensuring the safety and convenience of the Snow Creek residents.

Reflecting on years past, memories of a house we worked on emerged from the depths of our mind. In the face of winter's might, the house stood resilient, engulfed by a blanket of snow.
