In 1945, the National School of Nursing and Obstetrics was established with a vision to provide technical education in nursing. Over the years, it has evolved into a prestigious institution offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. According to the Human Resources Management System in Nursing, Mexico boasts over 335,000 nursing positions spread across the country. These dedicated individuals play a crucial role in safeguarding the health of the Mexican population. However, it is essential to acknowledge the significance of professionalizing nursing personnel within the healthcare system.

The experiences encountered during past pandemics such as the H1N1 influenza outbreak in 2009 and the recent COVID-19 crisis have shed light on the urgent need for highly skilled and socially committed nursing professionals. It is imperative to continue nurturing and developing high-quality academic programs that meet these demands.
