Welcome, my dear friends, to this beautiful day in the fourth week of Easter in the year 2023. I hope you had a restful weekend and are ready to tackle the day with a positive attitude in all your endeavors. Let's approach today with enthusiasm and eagerness, just as the Lord asks of us.

In today's Gospel of John, chapter 10, verses 22-30, we find Jesus walking in the temple during the Feast of the Dedication. The Jews surround him and ask, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly." Jesus responds, "I have already told you, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one."

The healing power of God's love is real. When we share our anxieties, problems, and concerns with the Lord, he listens and grants us serenity. And if it is his will, he provides solutions. We must trust that God makes all things new.

Knowing Our Heavenly Father

I find it beautiful how Jesus speaks of his Father. "My Father and I are one. My Father knows me, and I know him." It is a profound connection, a relationship built on love and understanding. It reminds me of the importance of truly knowing and being known by our loved ones – our parents, children, and even our bosses. When a boss knows their employees well and treats them with love and acceptance, it creates a harmonious and nurturing environment.

However, sometimes, as pastors, we may fail to be true shepherds. We should not instill fear in our employees or congregation. Instead, we should strive to love, embrace, and care for them. Let us learn from Jesus and embody the qualities that make him such a remarkable figure. Let us resemble Pope Francis, a man of love, clarity, and practical pastoral guidance. We should all strive to reflect the beauty of Jesus and the Church.

Proclaiming the Good News

Our task is to carry the voice of God and proclaim the good, the hope, and the love that Jesus represents. We must be the living embodiment of God's love. As the Gospel of James and the letters of Paul say, "By their deeds, you will know them." It is not about building grand temples or performing great miracles. It is about engaging in good works, providing pastoral care, and celebrating the Eucharist with love. Through these actions, we construct new hearts and spread God's love.

Let us, therefore, strive to resemble Jesus and his close relationship with God. Are we truly one with God, as Jesus claimed? As we witness the election, let us examine our own connection with the divine. Are we truly aligned with God's will? Are we offering ourselves fully to God? These are questions we should ask ourselves daily as we discover our purpose and play our part in the Church.

The Voice of the Good Shepherd

When Jesus identifies himself with God, we should strive to identify ourselves more with Jesus. We should yearn to be part of his flock, to be active members of the Church, and to proclaim the good news to the world. When we listen to the voice of the good shepherd, we never want to stray. We find comfort, love, and purpose in his presence.

Let us close our eyes, wherever we may be, and pray to the Lord. Let us pray for our homes, our families, and our needs. May everything we do be done with love and excellence. May our words carry love, our hands exude love, and our actions communicate love. For the Lord knows us, and we know him. Let us not stray from the flock of love, goodness, and mercy.

As we conclude, my dear brothers and sisters, I bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. May you continue on your journey, guided by the Virgin Mary's presence. Remember to share this message with others. May God bless you always, and may the Virgin Mary accompany you.
