Good Tuesday morning, South Florida! If you step outside today, you'll notice a few things. Firstly, some of the roads are wet due to overnight showers. This increase in moisture content was expected in yesterday's forecast. Not only do we have a chance of a few showers today, but the humidity is on the rise as well. The dew points are in the upper 60s and low 70s, leading to a muggy start to the day. In Miami and Fort Lauderdale, temperatures are already in the upper 70s, with the Keys experiencing similar temperatures.

Record Warmth in Sight

As the day progresses, temperatures are expected to climb even higher. We could see temperatures reaching the upper 80s, possibly even flirting with record warmth in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. This warm weather can be attributed to a front that is moving over the northern half of the state. South Florida will remain ahead of this front for most of today and tomorrow, but it will eventually bring with it a chance of showers.

Changes on the Horizon

Tomorrow morning, we may experience a slight shift in the wind direction, coming from the west-southwest. This land breeze could make the morning hours feel more comfortable as we await the arrival of the front. The front will bring a better chance of storms on Thursday, and while the main focus will be the upper 80s transitioning to the lower 80s, this decrease of about five degrees will still be a welcome relief from the heat.

So, enjoy your Tuesday in South Florida while it lasts!
