A Positive Attitude Amidst High Expectations

As I stepped into my new role as manager, I couldn't help but notice the positive attitude emanating from the team. However, I must admit, I expected a little more misery. But collectively, they seemed quite good together. My first impressions were that they were desperate to do better, to improve. And that's where I come in, offering support, guidance, and a much-needed boost of confidence.

Of course, building up their technical and tactical skills will come with time. As a new manager, I expected a little bit more from the players. It's almost a given that when a new manager arrives, the performance of the team tends to lift. But let's not attribute it all to my brilliance as a manager. It's more about the players wanting to impress and prove themselves. After all, nobody wants to embarrass themselves, especially against the likes of Manchester City.

My influence will be felt day in and day out, continuously driving the right things and creating the right training sessions. Mentally, I'll be evaluating the players, identifying who needs a confidence boost or extra support. And when they step onto the field, they'll feel better, ready to give that little bit more.

The Power of Sports Psychology

During my conversations with Carl Robinson, a member of my staff, we delved into the realm of sports psychology. And to my delight, we have a sports psychologist on board. Now, I've always been a big supporter of psychology, having used it extensively in my personal life. It's an essential tool for those who seek to strengthen their mental game and overcome their fears. But I won't force it upon the players; they need to know it's available if they want it.

Seeking out a sports psychologist doesn't make you weak; it makes you strong. It shows that you're willing to put your fears behind you and get into the right frame of mind. So, the presence of a psychologist on our team is a pleasant surprise for me, and I believe it will greatly benefit the players, especially someone like Robbie Keane, who has shown interest in sports psychology.

Robbie Keane: A Personality That Inspires

As Robbie Keane joins our team, I can't help but appreciate his personality. Now, the first thing I must do is try to shut him up, as he never stops talking. But beyond that, I've known Robbie for quite a while, and we've discussed his interest in coaching multiple times. I've always admired his character, and I believe his presence will not only lift the players but also add value to our coaching methods, especially for the front men and strikers. After all, goals are crucial in football.

But it's not just about his coaching abilities; Robbie's love for the club shines through. He's a true Leeds supporter, and that passion will undoubtedly make a difference. It's a pleasure to have him by my side, even if it's just for a short period of time.

Never Say Never: The Future Beyond Four Matches

Now, there has been much talk about the length of my deal. Is it just for these four matches, or could there be more? Well, I never say never. It all depends on what happens at the end of these four matches and the subsequent conversations. I'm open to considering a longer-term commitment, but ultimately, it's not just about what I want. It's about what the team and the organization feel is best. So, let's see what the future
