I had set out from Delhi for a straightforward dinner, but this journey had surprises in store that I couldn't have anticipated. As I was driving, the thought crossed my mind that I might make a quick stop at a petrol pump, perhaps grab a snack and be on my way. Little did I know that destiny had other plans, leading me straight to this enchanting campsite.

Amidst the unfolding story, I hadn't planned to make camp here. If I had stopped in the middle, I would have missed the carefully crafted setup that awaited me. The weather was taking a turn, and I could see the ominous clouds swirling, heralding a rainstorm of epic proportions. It seemed like a choice had been made for us; we were here to camp.

The wind was howling, and the rain was pouring. The fear in the air was palpable. Even our timing was impeccable as the setup was already complete. While the outside world battled the tempest, we were inside, enjoying the cool breeze and the sound of raindrops on the roof. It was time for some culinary adventure.

Preparing the Basics

Okay, so I had to set up camp inside the tent because the camera setup was not ready yet. I turned my attention towards the kitchen, and that's when the adventure began. I decided to whip up something simple and delicious. My pantry had some vegetable momos, and I thought, "Why not make momos and enjoy them in this chilly weather?"

Momos, those delightful dumplings, were on the menu. I had brought along some veg momos from home, making it easy to prepare them. The process of steaming would have taken longer, and we were already hungry, so we opted for fried momos. A quick dip in the hot oil, and they were ready.

The Unveiling

As I bit into the momo, I couldn't believe the burst of flavors in my mouth. It was as if they had been carefully preserved just for this moment. The hot and crispy momos, paired with a special chutney, created a sensational fusion that was beyond words.

The chilly weather outside, coupled with our exhaustion from a 600-kilometer drive, made this momo feast even more enjoyable. I decided that I needed to keep a pen color handy to jot down my thoughts, as the cold was making my hands numb, and I couldn't keep a steady hand. After all, I was so engrossed in the process of savoring the momos that sleep didn't seem like an option.

A Night to Remember

The momos were perfectly frozen, and the freezer was doing its job efficiently. My thoughts turned to the whole camping experience. The silence outside was profound, and we were in the middle of nowhere. The campsite was shrouded in darkness, and the whole place had an eerie yet beautiful ambiance.
