Hey, folks! It's Tat, and today I'm diving headfirst into the whirlwind of emotions that is the recent Public Test Build (PTB) from Behaviour. Hold on to your hats, because we're about to take a wild ride through this update!

A Healthy Update with a Few Bumps

First and foremost, let's address the elephant in the room: the PTB update. Now, let me make it clear from the get-go that, in general, I think it's a pretty solid update. Sure, there are some significant issues that need ironing out, but all in all, I believe it's a step in the right direction.

Now, don't get me wrong; there are some real head-scratchers here, but I firmly believe that these can be tweaked and improved upon with some well-deserved feedback. Let's start by looking at the accessibility and Blood Web changes, a true game-changer.

Breaking Barriers: Accessibility and Blood Web

Behold the marvel of accessibility! The introduction of visual Terror radius options is nothing short of fantastic. It's a welcome change for hard-of-hearing players, and I'm thrilled to see the community buzzing with excitement over it. Even though I may not personally use these features, I already know of players in my Twitch chat who are eagerly awaiting them.

Now, let's talk about the Blood Web. It's been revamped, and boy, is it fast! Combining its new features makes plowing through Blood Web levels an absolute breeze. I've been waiting for years for this kind of feature, and it's finally here. The Blood Web is smoother, faster, and more thrilling than ever before.

Autohaven Maps: A Balancing Act

Autohaven maps, anyone? I've had a bone to pick with some of these for a while, particularly the ones that didn't seem all that fair. The placement of breakable walls and car walls left much to be desired. But, my oh my, the map rework has resolved those issues. They're now more balanced and fun to play on, offering a delightful experience for both sides. Say goodbye to those frustrating elements, and hello to a great change!

Moreover, the new layouts of maps like Blood Lodge and Gas Heaven feel like a breath of fresh air. It's as if they've transformed into entirely new territories, and that's precisely what we want – innovation!

Healing: A Mixed Bag

Now, here's where we step into the realm of criticism. Dear Behaviour, if you're listening, please, for the sake of all things fun, consider reverting the base healing time to a reasonable 16 seconds. The current 24 seconds is downright brutal, especially when combined with the mangled status effect. It's a joyless experience and negatively impacts several perks, like Resurgence and No One Left Behind. It's time for a healing revival!

On the flip side, the medkit update is mostly a positive change. However, the add-ons leave much to be desired. We were hoping for exciting new additions, but instead, we got number tweaks. How about some add-ons that change the game, like revealing a Survivor's aura after healing them for 30 seconds? Now, that's the kind of innovation we were looking for.

Boon Circle of Healing: A Step Too Far?

Speaking of healing, let's talk about Boon Circle of Healing. It seems they went a tad overboard with this one. As a fervent fan of Boons, seeing my favorite perk in Dead by Daylight get nerfed to oblivion is a tough pill to swallow. However, I understand that many players found it too powerful. But, here's the kicker – why doesn't Circle of Healing work with medkits anymore? It's baffling! If you're encouraging players to heal others, make it work with altruistic medical heals. Please, consider this change.

Pain Resonance and Animation Refresh

Surprisingly, Pain Resonance still has its merits. Even though I contemplated dropping it, I found value in using it. The limited use per trial didn't hinder its effectiveness, and when coupled with Surge, it still slowed down generators. It's not as bad as I initially thought, but it's still not perfect.

Moving on to the animation refresh, it's a game-changer. The movement and camera work feel incredible, with a sense of weight and inertia that adds a new level of immersion. It's a shame it wasn't highlighted in the patch notes, but it's a colossal change, especially for Legion's Frenzy ability.

Killer Updates: The Good and the Bad

The Killer updates in this PTB are a mixed bag. Billy's Base Kit feels better, and I've been longing for overheating changes for ages. But that Engravings nerf? It's way out of line and decimates top-level play for Billy enthusiasts. Behaviour, please listen and reconsider – this nerf is uncalled for.

On a brighter note, Hag received a significant update. Survivors can now interact with her Phantasm traps, making the game more balanced and fair. It's a welcome change that promotes meaningful interaction between killers and survivors.

Wrapping It Up

There you have it, folks – my thoughts on the PTB. It's mostly positive, with a few rough edges, particularly concerning healing changes. But I'm optimistic that with the right tweaks and adjustments, this update could make Dead by Daylight an even more thrilling experience. Here's hoping that Behaviour takes these thoughts to heart as they work on bringing this update to life. Wishing you all the best and many exciting Dead by Daylight matches ahead!
