Introduction

Hey there, my awesome audience! It's been a while since I last checked in, and I just wanted to say how much I appreciate each and every one of you. You guys have been so supportive since I started this channel, and I felt genuinely bad for being absent for so long. Just know that I've been thinking about all of you.

Now, let me catch you up on what I've been up to. Over the past few weeks, I've been traveling all over the United States, hitting the slopes and skiing like crazy. Even though I took some time off from work for this adventure, I was still juggling my full-time day job, which made editing videos quite a challenge. But fear not, my friends, as I have been filming every step of the way and have so much amazing footage to share with you all.

In this article, I'm going to take you through my skiing adventures in different locations, outside of my home state of Colorado. I'll share the highs, the lows, and everything in between. So buckle up and get ready for some wild ski rides!

Exploring Taos Ski Valley: A Last-Minute Decision

Our first stop on this ski adventure was Taos Ski Valley. Now, you might be wondering why we chose this spot. Well, it was actually a last-minute decision. I did some research and discovered that Taos doesn't have a reputation for being overcrowded, and it was just a relatively quick drive from Denver, where we were based. Plus, the best part was that the lodging in town was quite reasonable. We scored a room at the Super 8 for under a hundred bucks a night. Not too shabby for a world-class resort!

I have to admit, I was both excited and nervous about skiing outside of Colorado. It had been my first time venturing out of my snowy comfort zone since I started skiing two years ago. The anticipation was building up, and I couldn't wait to hit the slopes and see what awaited me.

Taos Ski Valley: Powder Turns and Fish Out of Water

Hello, my fellow adventurers! We finally arrived at Taos Ski Valley, and boy, was I stoked! The snow was coming down, and the conditions were perfect. I must apologize for not filming on our first day though. I spent most of it trying to get a new boot set up to work, but after struggling with it, I decided to stick with my old boots for the season. Sometimes, you just have to go with what works, right?

As I strapped on my skis and gazed out at the falling snow, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves. I knew I had a lot to learn and experience outside of my familiar Colorado slopes. But hey, that's what makes skiing in new places so thrilling.

The visibility was a bit low, but I embraced the challenge. We started off on a black run called Bob's, which connected to a blue run. It was the perfect opportunity for me to practice my powder turns and get a feel for the unfamiliar terrain. To be honest, I had a few moments of doubt and uncertainty, especially when I saw some imposing-looking moguls. But hey, skiing is all about pushing yourself and stepping out of your comfort zone, right?

Conquering Challenges and Gaining Confidence

As the snow continued to fall, we made our way to lift four. Our goal was to reach the top of Kachina Peak, but unfortunately, it wasn't open yet. Nevertheless, we still had a blast skiing the pristine snow under lift four. The groomed blue run became my playground, and I gradually gained more confidence in powder.

I must say, the slow lifts due to the wind added an extra challenge. But hey, who needs speed when you're having the time of your life? As we glided through the snow, I couldn't help but revel in the beauty of the mountain and the sense of accomplishment with each turn.

At this point in my Taos adventure, I was starting to find my groove. My initial nerves were slowly fading away, and I was feeling more like my fearless skiing self. That's the beauty of skiing in new places—it tests you, challenges you, and ultimately helps you grow as a skier.

Alfunko: A Thrilling Black Run and Reality Check

Alright, buckle up for this one because things got real on Alfunko, a black run that became my absolute favorite at Taos. By this point, I was feeling more comfortable and having a ton of fun riding down this challenging slope. But then, we had this crazy idea to attempt a legit double black run right after.

Let me tell you, folks, that was a reality check. We quickly realized that we were in over our heads. It was a tough reminder that skiing in new places comes with its fair share of challenges. But hey, it's all part of the adventure, right?

Conclusion

Alright, my awesome audience, that wraps up my skiing adventures at Taos Ski Valley. Despite the initial nerves and challenges, I'm proud to say that I came out of it as a better skier. Skiing in new and unfamiliar places truly tests your skills and forces you to adapt and learn.

Stay tuned for more exciting ski adventures as I continue to explore different slopes across the country. And hey, if you haven't already, don't forget to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss out on any of the action.
