Close your eyes and imagine yourself sitting at a park bench with your four-year-old self. As you sit there impatiently checking your phone, you notice a child jumping around in water puddles, more interested in getting wet and having fun. You notice the child is mesmerized by little ants running back and forth across the water's edge. This sight fascinates you, and you begin to ponder when did you stop noticing these little miracles that surround you daily. This monologue essentially acted as a medium to show you the difference in attitude in life of a child compared to that of an adult.

The Lost Inner Child

Somewhere along the way, some of us have lost our childlike personality and our inner child. But what is an inner child to begin with? The inner child is the self of our puberty representing the inner subconscious image herself, and as we grow older, we tend to lose this inner child. The harsh realities of the world and societal pressures make us restrict ourselves in order to meet expectations. This leads us to let go of our carefreeness, our relentless curiosity, and the random sense of adventure we had as kids. This speaks to a larger issue of deteriorating mental health, something we need to shed more light upon.

Embracing Your Inner Child

So how do we go about embracing our inner child? Everyone has their own paths to discovering this, but there are certain guidelines everyone should follow and implement in their daily lives. Dream big and fail harder is a motto that has guided me through my own journey of embracing my inner child. I have faced challenges and failures head-on, just like a child who isn't afraid to play a sport they've never tried before.

The Benefits of Embracing Your Inner Child

Embracing your inner child can lead to increased attention to detail and a boost in creativity. Children notice different things than adults and learn as much as they can from the world around them. Embracing your inner child can make you open to sights and experiences you've long taught yourself to miss. This open-mindedness and attention to detail can lead to creative problem-solving and a more joyous life.

In conclusion, keeping a little bit of your inner child alive means having a joyous life. It involves using your gut and imagination rather than conforming to societal expectations. Life is too short to take everything seriously, so go out there and enjoy life with the curiosity and joy of a child. Thank you.
