It's hard to believe that it's been two years since I made the move to Mexico, specifically Puerto Vallarta. Time really does fly when you're living your best life. And in today's video, I want to share my thoughts after living here for two years and calling it home. I can honestly say that I feel incredibly happy, free, and safe here. Living in Puerto Vallarta has allowed me to embrace a more active and healthy lifestyle compared to my time in Vancouver, Canada.

In Vancouver, I had a pretty active lifestyle already. I worked in the fitness and wellness industry as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, and yoga instructor. I loved skiing and snowboarding. But since moving to Mexico, I've taken my activity levels to new heights. I've discovered new hobbies that I never thought I would enjoy. One of my absolute favorites now is surfing. If the waves are good, I can surf every day. But I make it a point to surf at least three times a week. I also attend fitness and yoga classes on the beach in the mornings. It's a fantastic way to kickstart the day. And in the evenings, I love biking and walking around the city, discovering new parts of Puerto Vallarta.

Speaking of discovery, this city is a hidden gem in itself. Puerto Vallarta offers amazing hikes, and just last week, a group of my friends and I completed a very advanced hike to see five waterfalls. We crossed rivers, jumped from rock to rock, pulled ourselves up by ropes, and even repelled down. Finally, we climbed all the way to the top of the mountain to witness the breathtaking view of Banderas Bay. It was an exhilarating experience!

Improved Mental and Physical Health

Living this more active lifestyle in Puerto Vallarta has had a significant impact on my mental and physical health. I feel more energized, focused, and connected to my body and surroundings. I've noticed a decrease in stress levels, and I feel more relaxed overall. This has had a positive impact on my overall well-being. It's truly amazing how a change in environment can do wonders for our health.

Grocery Shopping Adventures

Now, let's talk about grocery shopping. Over the past two years, I've discovered some of the best places to buy groceries in Puerto Vallarta. While shopping at larger chain stores can be convenient, I've found that shopping at small tiendas (local shops) and farmer markets offers fresher produce, better prices, and a more authentic shopping experience. These smaller stores often have a limited selection of products, but the quality of the produce is excellent. Plus, they sometimes offer locally made products that you can't find anywhere else. And let's not forget about the farmers markets held throughout the city on different days. Not only do they offer a wide variety of products, but the prices are typically lower than what you would find at a grocery store. So, my approach to grocery shopping in Puerto Vallarta is to mix it up by shopping at a combination of small tiendas, farmers markets, and large stores like Costco and La Comer.

Hidden Gems and Community

Living in Puerto Vallarta for the past two years has allowed me to discover many of the city's hidden gems. There are so many beautiful and unique places to explore here that are off the beaten path and known only to locals or long-time expats. I've shared some of these hidden gems in my previous videos, like the hot springs in Nuevo Vallarta and the stunning beaches of Destiladeras and Calamitos. I've also discovered amazing hiking trails, surf spots, restaurants, and taco places that I'll continue to share on my coffee page.

One of the most incredible aspects of living in Puerto Vallarta is the sense of community. I've had the privilege of meeting amazing people from all over the world. The expat community here is diverse and welcoming. It's been a joy to connect with individuals who share similar interests and experiences. From neighborhood festivals to charity events, there's always something happening in Puerto Vallarta that brings people together. Making friends here has been easy, and the support and care within this community are unparalleled.

Embracing Simplicity and Gratitude

Living in Puerto Vallarta for the past two years has allowed me to embrace a simpler and more relaxed way of life. In Vancouver, I was accustomed to a fast-paced lifestyle, always rushing from one thing to the next. But here, I've learned to slow down and appreciate the simple things in life. Whether it's taking a leisurely walk along the beach and watching a stunning sunset or enjoying a cup of coffee on my balcony, I've come to realize that these little moments are the most important. I'm truly grateful for this experience and the opportunity to live here.

If you're considering making a change in your life, whether it's moving to a new place or starting a new career, I encourage you to take the leap and go for it. Life is too short, and there's so much out there to explore and experience. Don't be afraid to try new things and embrace the unknown.

Thank you for watching my videos, supporting my journey, and being a part of this incredible community. Until next time, ciao ciao!
